RiskForce introduces a new Mindmap Canvas for brainstorming, smarter AI with Claude Sonnet, and enhanced Jira integration for streamlined compliance workflows.

What's New in RiskForce: Mindmap Canvas, Smarter AI, and Workflow Polish

Last month, we rolled out Zero Data Retention across all AI features, reaffirming our commitment to your data privacy. This month, our focus has shifted to enhancing your daily compliance tasks, making them smoother, faster, and more intuitive. We're thrilled to unveil the most significant updates from the past few weeks, including a groundbreaking new way to brainstorm within the Project Planner.

Introducing the Mindmap Canvas: A New Way to Capture Ideas

The Project Planner now features a brand-new top-level page: Mindmap. This free-form canvas is meticulously designed to mirror the organic flow of ideas – not as rigid lists, but as interconnected branches.

How it Works:

  • Effortless Creation: Click anywhere to drop a root node and start typing.
  • Seamless Branching: Press Enter to chain spokes from the same hub.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Use Tab to navigate between neighboring nodes without ever touching your mouse.
  • Instant Conversion: Once you've developed a useful branch – be it a checklist, a sub-strategy, or a draft procedure – simply right-click any node to convert that entire branch into a sticky note within your current project.

Key Highlights:

  • Per-Project Canvases: Each project boasts its own dedicated mindmap. Switching projects automatically loads the relevant canvas, ensuring your ideas are always organized and accessible. Nothing leaves your browser until you crystallize it into a note.
  • Intuitive Visual Design:
    • Each branch family is assigned a distinct color.
    • Root nodes are visually larger than their children.
    • Converted branches glow briefly, providing clear confirmation of where your ideas have landed.
  • Cross-Project Portability: Two new toolbar icons enable you to snapshot a valuable mindmap and reuse it as a starting point in another project, fostering efficiency and consistency.

The Mindmap is engineered to do one thing exceptionally well: get your ideas out of your head and into a actionable format, without the friction of formatting.

AI Chat (Ava): Smarter Defaults and Enhanced Reliability

Ava, our AI assistant, has received significant upgrades to its intelligence and resilience:

  • Improved Default Model: Ava's Smart mode now defaults to Claude Sonnet, our most reliable model for complex compliance and security reasoning.
  • Consistent Fallback Mechanism: We've enhanced the automatic-fallback behavior. Should a model become temporarily unavailable, Ava seamlessly transitions to the next available model in line, ensuring uninterrupted conversations and workflow.

Streamlined Jira Integration: Send a Single Note

Previously, pushing notes from the Project Planner to Jira was a bulk operation. We've introduced a more granular approach:

  • Direct "Send to Jira" Action: A new "Send to Jira" action is now available within the expanded-note menu. This allows you to dispatch a single idea to Jira the moment it becomes trackable, without ever leaving the note you're working on.

Project Planner Enhancements: Speed and Clarity

We've fine-tuned the Project Planner for a more responsive and transparent user experience:

  • Faster Loading: When you access the Project Planner with a specific project selected, notes for that project now load and appear first. The remaining projects fill in asynchronously, allowing you to start working immediately.
  • Clearer Autosave Indicator: The autosave indicator on expanded notes has been rewritten for improved clarity:
    • While editing, you'll see a live "Typing…" cue.
    • Once your changes are saved, it transitions to "Last autosaved: <time>" – providing instant feedback on the status of your work.

Document Builder and Asset Manager Improvements

  • "Complete All Elements" Button: A new "Complete All Elements" button is now available at the bottom of every Document Builder section. This allows you to mark all elements as complete with a single click, rather than toggling each individually.
  • Asset Manager - Relationships: The Relationships view in the Asset Manager now loads its data automatically upon first visit. Furthermore, the diagram now scrolls within its own pane, ensuring the sidebar and page header remain anchored and accessible.

Quality and Reliability Refinements

We've implemented a series of platform-wide refinements to enhance stability and user experience:

  • Diagram Generator Save Reliability: Resolved a rare issue where the initial save attempt on a freshly opened Diagram Generator could leave the canvas in an inconsistent state.
  • Consistent System Name Editing: An occasional validation error during system name editing has been addressed, ensuring a more consistent experience.
  • PDF Preview Reliability: PDF previews on Approved Products now render inline reliably across both Chrome and Firefox browsers.
  • Direct POA&M Manager Access: Jumping into the POA&M Manager from STIG, Controls Manager, or a notification now lands you directly on the tool for users with appropriate access.
  • Accurate "My Documents" Completion Bars: The completion bars in "My Documents" now accurately reflect your actual progress.

If any of these updates pique your interest and you'd like a personalized walkthrough, we invite you to request a demo. We'll be happy to show you how these new features seamlessly integrate into your existing compliance workflow.
